Authenticity

has become one of the most talked-about ideas in conversations about sexuality. Why? Because sexuality is one of the areas of life where many people experience the largest gap between what they genuinely feel and what they believe they're supposed to feel. Some even go so far as to believe there is something "wrong" with them if they are not interested in the ideas sold to them, causing them to disengage from the topic altogether.

Lately, I've been asking myself whether some of what I call pleasure is actually the satisfaction of meeting preferences, expectations, or standards I've absorbed along the way. How much of what I enjoy is truly mine, and how much is conditioning? I don't have a final answer, but I find the question itself fascinating.

One of the things I have loved about my journey in tantra is that it has provided me with a space to study and contemplate different ideas, then take them into my body and discover how they actually feel. For me, tantra offers a place where self-awareness, emotional honesty, and body awareness come together. As a result, it has increasingly helped me view sexuality not simply as behavior, but as an expression of my deeper self.

The question, "Is this my natural way of experiencing pleasure?" has become a profound investigation.

Many people spend years performing sexually. A common realization in modern sexuality work is that people often discover they have been having the kind of sex they thought they were supposed to enjoy, acting out cultural scripts rather than exploring their own desires, prioritizing performance over pleasure, and seeking approval instead of connection.

Some women discover they've spent years focused on being desirable rather than feeling desire. Some men discover they've been pressured into performing confidence, dominance, or constant sexual interest. Some LGBTQ+ people realize they've hidden parts of themselves in order to stay safe or accepted. Authenticity becomes a way of asking, "What do I actually feel beneath all the expectations?"

Sexuality is deeply personal. Unlike many social roles, it touches desire, identity, vulnerability, pleasure, shame, love, power, and belonging. Each of these topics can feel enormous and intimidating.

For me, there are still moments when I don't even know what my options are. Earlier in life, I was never really given the opportunity to look inward and ask some of these questions. Then there are all the assumptions about what these spaces are like: rooms full of Buddha studs with man buns talking a sweet game but not actually living it, people discussing polyamory and complex relationship systems, or someone teaching impact play when I'm more of a foot-rub kind of girl.

That feeling of not fitting in is real.

These questions are exactly why we've chosen "Summer of Self-Study and Curiosity" as our theme this year. We believe personal exploration doesn't require adopting a particular identity, relationship style, or spiritual path. It simply requires curiosity, support, and spaces where questions are welcome.

Bliss Boogie's ecosystem is here to help you get deeper with yourself and, if you choose, with others—whether that's in the privacy of your own home or through workshops, retreats, and community experiences.

Bliss Boogie Connect is our private membership club. We're creating a portal into a universe of professional educators offering topics designed to help you explore who you are in this phase of your life, both as an individual and as part of a larger society. Instead of spending hours digging through the internet or wandering into spaces that don't feel safe, we help you find educators and opportunities that align with your interests and values.

Open Invitations is a space where you can discover others' desires to connect and perhaps share your own with a group of peers interested in self-reflection, curiosity, and meaningful connection.

Local Community invites you to join our private WhatsApp group and connect with local people exploring similar questions.

Events from people we love offers a curated list of events from facilitators and organizations we trust. Whether you're looking for something local or a deeper immersive experience, you'll find opportunities to learn, connect, and grow. Members also gain access to exclusive events not open to the public.

Private Sessions are available if you're not quite ready for a group setting. You can book a traditional massage and spend time discussing questions that are meaningful to you, or explore private tantra yoga sessions for individuals and couples.

Wherever you are on your path, we aim to meet you with an open mind and an open heart.

I look forward to getting deep with you and supporting your journey.

Be good to yourself,

Kai

Community is not something we simply attend.

We believe healing, celebration, and connection must extend beyond ourselves and into the lives of the people around us. Tending to the community means showing up for one another in real and tangible ways.

We are inviting our community to support two incredible organizations serving Raleigh every single day! Helping Hand Mission & Meals on Wheels

Whether through donations, volunteering, supplies, or sharing resources, every act of care matters.

The Art of Doing Less

Summer Solstice Restorative Yoga, Breathwork & Reflection

June 21st at 12:00-2:30pm 218 Snow Ave, Raleigh

June 21st marks the Summer Solstice—the longest day of the year. While the world tells us to use every extra hour to be more productive, we're choosing a different path.

We're choosing rest.

Join us for an afternoon of restorative yoga, yin yoga, gentle breathwork, journaling, and connection as we kick off our Summer of Self-Study. This gathering is an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and remember that sometimes the most radical thing we can do is nothing at all.

No yoga experience is necessary. In fact, you don't even have to participate in the yoga or breathwork if that's not your thing. There will be space to simply relax, reflect, or connect with others. Come exactly as you are.

We'll provide a welcoming environment, light snacks, and plenty of room to unwind. Whether you're craving stillness, community, or simply a reason to stop rushing for a few hours, this afternoon is for you.

This summer, instead of constantly chasing the next thing, let's practice enjoying where we already are.

Come rest. Come connect. Come chill. Save your spot with the link below

August 8th, 4:30-7:30 PM 218 Snow Ave Raleigh

Potluck & Story Night

Bring a Dish. Bring a Story. Bring a Piece of Yourself.

Food has always been one of the ways humans gather, connect, and build community. Stories are another.

Join us for an evening of shared meals and meaningful storytelling. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share, along with an object that holds personal meaning. It might be an old family recipe, a treasured photograph, a favorite book, a handmade gift, a meaningful keepsake, or even your favorite sex toy. The object matters less than the story behind it.

Throughout the evening, we'll take turns sharing why our chosen item is important to us and what it reveals about our lives, values, experiences, and journeys.

As we continue our Summer of Self-Study, this gathering offers an opportunity to practice something many of us long for. Being seen. Not for what we do or accomplish, but for who we are and what matters most to us.

Bring a dish. Bring a story. Bring a little piece of yourself.

We'll provide a welcoming space and a community ready to listen.
